4×4 Rav4 is reliable in Uganda as it can be driven on both paved and not paved roads, it is easy to Maintain and in case of any problem, it is easy to repair.
4×4 land cruiser Prado TX/TZ
This is also a good self drive car in Uganda reliable on roads, it is a 4×4, has capacity of 5 people with enough leg room. It consumes Petrol, Automatic transmission, and has Ac. It covers unlimited mileage. We have those cars with pop up roof and those without. The pop up is good at wildlife viewing and photography.
Land cruiser Prado has High ground clearance, has big boot for luggage or camping equipment.

4×4 Land cruiser v8 is a luxury car very suitable for both short or long safaris or drives in Uganda. It takes petrol, automatic transmission and has capacity of 5 people. The car has enough leg room. And big boot for belongings.

Some of our Land cruises V8 have rooftop tents for those visitors who prefer to go on a camping safari and others do not have rooftop tents.

Land cruiser GX is a 4×4 car, it takes Diesel and manual Transmission. It is a reliable car on Ugandan roads, it comes with good tyres, goes for unlimited mileage and has enough leg room. The car is also suitable for camping safaris as it can fit for rooftop tent, it can be a car with two rooftop tents or one. The boot is also large for luggage and camping equipment.

This is a very good and powerful car, comfortable and reliable on African roads, it comes with good tyres offroad, it is takes Diesel and its Manual Transmission. The car can fit one rooftop tent or two rooftop tents. It has high ground clearance, has enough leg room and good space for luggage and camping equipment.

This can be Toyota drone, Omni bus or Super custom. A safari van is suitable for group safaris as it can take from 7 people and above. It has good tryes, goes for unlimited mileage and has Ac.
Best time to go for self-drive trip
The best time to go on a self-driving in Uganda is during dry season ie months of January, February, June, July, August, September and December. During that period, the weather is dry, allowing self-drive visitors not to drive on muddy roads, animal viewing is clear as the weather will be cool and clear. Animals tend to come near water holes and water bodies in protected areas to take water hence good viewing and photography.
Some activities like gorilla tracking, chimpanzee tracking, and Natural walks are very enjoyable in dry season as the trails will be dry and passable.
Though dry season is the best on self-drive trip, even on rain season months like March, April, May, October, and November, all activities are still carried out. 4×4 cars are highly recommended during these months and can manage muddy roads. Good Hiking shoes are highly recommended for mountaineering, Gorilla Tracking, Chimpanzee Tracking and Nature walks.
Some activities like birding, rainy season is the best to view of the birds, like migratory ones.
