Self-driving around Kasese area

Visiting Uganda is a great decision and many attractions will be explored depending on the area of the visit, and number of days. Kasese Area is part of western Uganda and it is known to have many wonders. There are many attractions to explore in this region where a visitor can choose.

Self-driving in kibale National Park

Kibale National Park is one of the most visited parks in Uganda known to be home to chimpanzees and other great primates totaling 13 species. It’s a great forest and activities in this park are done on foot. Here below are some of the activities in kibale National Park.

Chimpanzee tracking.

This is the most done activity in kibale. It is done twice daily, in the morning and afternoon sessions. To be able to do chimpanzees Tracking, you need to have the permit prior from Uganda Wildlife Authority through a company. For car rental clients the car rental company can purchase the permits on behalf of visitors which can be given to them when delivering the car.

Visitors gather at the visitor center kanyanchu for briefing before entering the forest for the great activity. Accompanied by park guides and rangers, the visitors are let into the magical forest in search for the primates. Time spent while tracking depend on the movement of chimpanzees and after finding them, visitors spend precious hours viewing the primates.

Chimpanzee habituation

This is also done in kibale, it starts earlier in the morning than chimpanzee tracking to find when the primates have just woken up. With chimpanzee habituation, visitors follow chimps for longer hours, unless chimpanzee tracking which takes one hour after finding them.

Self-driving in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Queen Elizabeth is wonderfully located in western Uganda. It is one of the powerful parks in Uganda for wildlife. Among animals which can be found here include, elephants, buffaloes, lions, warthogs, leopards and many more. Here below are some of the activities which can be done in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Game drives.

Games drives in Queen will not disappoint, behold many animals will be seen in animal Kingdom including the big five. Drive slowly in the national park and quiet many sightings will be seen. Remember when in national park animals have right of way.

Boat cruise on kazinga channel.

The park is famous with this section of kazinga channel water body. It’s between lake Edward and George. It’s where animals take water from. When on the cruise, behold many animals coming to quench their thirsty, they may include elephants, buffaloes, and many others, the boat cruise may let you see animals you missed on the game drive. Enjoy the cool breathe on the waters and birding species at the banks of the channel.

Self-driving to Rwenzori National Park

Although activities in Rwenzori National Park are done on foot. Visitors can access the park by renting a car in Uganda and drive there. Cars can be left parked at the park headquarters or accommodation facility where there is security. Among the activities in Rwenzori is hiking to different peaks, there are many peaks on the mountain including the highest margarita peak.
